My family and the example of my parents (especially my dad). On the 24th we saw 4 young men (when I say young, I mean about 12 or 11) walking in the street with beer bottles and saying very foul things. I am grateful for the traditions my parents have given me. We ate dinner at a less active family's house and their father wants nothing to do with the church. I was surprised he ate with us. I am truly grateful that my family is a "Proclamation" family! I got an email from a lady in our ward who's son just got diagnosed with Diabetes (he is also one of the coolest special needs kids I know) and she was so grateful for the Christlike love my Dad has for him visiting him in the hospital! Thanks very much dad for your preisthood example. After skyping, everyone commented on how beautiful my mother is! I guess that means my Dad worked pretty hard on his mission right??;)
My mission has really been a great miracle in my eyes! I really still see myself as an 18 year old high school grad and the difference after the mission might be big but it is all due to the little things I have. I know the scriptures are real and I have come to love them. I know that the preisthood power has been restored and through that power we can recieve many wonderful blessings. I even have come to realize how insignificant I am compared to the wonders our Father in Heaven makes. But through my obedience and hard work I can do wonders.
It has been a wonderful experience to be training a zone leader and I just found out I will be training another one here in Soledad 2000. I am grateful for another opprtuinity to be able to improve and accomplish even more this coming transfer. All the blessings we recieve come through our obedience and hard work! Hope you all have a very happy New Year!!
Love,
Elder Slack
